Born and raised in the Hutt Valley, the first 22 years living in Naenae and currently residing in Kelson where he built his home 20 plus years ago. He is married with a teenage son and daughter.
Most of John's spare time is centred around his family and he is actively involved with the Avalon Tennis Club as Junior Convenor and has also been a member of the management committee since 2000. He manages his daughters Interclub team while his wife is team manager of their son's team. Along with this John is also an active member of the Naenae College Parents Association and fundraising committee.
Johns working career commenced at Hutt Timber and Hardware for a period of 10 years. Then at Benchmark Building supplies for a further 13 years where after working in sales for 6 years he progressed to the role of Branch Manager, he had the satisfaction of turning an under achieving branch into a top four branch (out of 42 branches nationally) over 7 consecutive years.
In 2000 John set up his own business, Breon Services which specialised in building, renovation and property pre-purchase inspections. Throughout his career whether working for an employer or himself John has had many successes which have all been achieved by the same common factors of hard work, honesty, integrity, common sense but most of all by giving service!
