Trained as a scientist it is an unexpected surprise to find oneself doing accounts and selling Real Estate, however this is where Hazel finds herself these days and she is enjoying it tremendously.
Hazel has been a resident of Upper Hutt for over thirty years apart from a brief interlude in the UK. Having lived on a lifestyle block in Akatarawa Valley since 1979 she moved to Totara Park two years ago. Very much a family orientated mother, while her two daughters were growing up she spent a great deal of time involved in various school and community organisations.
Seventeen years ago when the girls had both started school she took over management of the accounting side of Selig Real Estate Ltd on a part time basis. This has been a rewarding and at times challenging position, especially during the conversion of the accounts to computer based systems. As the girls both became more independant the opportunity to pursue the sales and marketing side of the business arose. On the lookout to expand her horizons and with time on her hands, Hazel has moved into this area with enthusiasm, finding the increased contact with clients interesting and rewarding.
